TRAINING COURSES FOR INSTRUCTORS

A. Speech Development & Creative Drama for Instructors     (16 Hrs) ( see below )
B. Certificate in Pre-School Enrichment Education               (16 Hrs)
C. Certificate in Primary Enrichment Education                   (16 Hrs)

The above courses are designed for staff, teachers, tutors and others working with children to expand their specific skills & knowledge required for early pre-school education in Singapore.

Trainees will develop a deeper understanding of their roles as teachers and acquire skills and attitudes to guide young children in their development and early learning.

i. Trainees for 4 sessions of 4 hours each. Both formal and informal training methodology, such as lectures, small group discussions, workshops, role-plays and projects are used.

ii. Trainees are required to fulfill a practicum.

iii. Instructions will be in English

Entry Requirements: ' O ' Levels with a credit in English.

Those who do not meet the criteria may have to sit for an entrance test to determine their English Proficiency.

Applicants must have the following entry qualifications:

3 GCE 'O' Level credits

including English as the

First Language (EL1)

The Certificate in Speech & Drama for Instructors is designed to train teachers working with children the specific and practical teaching skills required to enable children to creatively express themselves comfortably in the English language through music, 
movement, songs, poems, stories, drama, reading, writing and                              creative thinking exercises. in English

In this highly practical course, conducted by a team of professional and experienced educators with multi-discipline skills and a passion to bring out the excellence and talent 
in children, trainees will acquire the fundamental knowledge and practical 
strategies that stimulate creative expression and thinking skills. 
Building a creative child is crucial to its lifelong learning process.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  This course is designed to enable trainees :

* to understand how language is developed in children

* the specific/practical teaching skills required to enable children to creatively express

  themselves in English
* to develop in children the correct usage of English grammar 

* to develop an interest in children for the English language and to help children

  build a good English vocabulary

* to facilitate children's Reading ability and development

* to enable children to creatively express themselves in the written form of the the

   English language

AWARD OF CERTIFICATE
On successful completion of the course and examination will lead to the award of the certificate.

Successful candidates may apply for a post to teach in one of our many Enrichment Centres we have established.

Course Fees      : $320.00

Application Fee : $30.00 (non-refundable)

Registration       : Print the Registration Form from the Trust Management Centre

                          website and post it to us with your cheque, payable to

                          "Trust Management Centre".

Please note the following conditions for refund of fees :

 a) 2 weeks' written notice before course commencement - 75% of course fees

 b) Less than 2 weeks' notice -  No Refund
